Phase 3
The Charity has ambitions to create an Eco-lodge on the main site adjacent to the Duck Pond. This facility was proposed in the original visualisation presented during public consultation in late 2019 and it was welcomed as ‘the jewel in the crown’. We are working with Groundwork Greater Manchester to submit a joint bid to secure funding from the National Lottery.
As part of our ongoing improvements to the Dane Bank Green Space, the charity trustees are excited to share their plans for an Ecolodge. Run by the community for the community, this will be a unique, environmentally friendly building designed to experience nature, learn about sustainability and connect with the local community.
For the past three years Dane Bank charity trustees have been working with Groundwork GM and the National Lottery. We secured funding for the design work and a planning application and we are delighted to be able share these plans with you.
What will the Ecolodge offer?
- Open-plan space for educational programmes, cultural experiences and community events.
- Opportunities for adventure activities, conservation efforts and support services.
- A hub for promoting health, wellbeing and environmental awareness.
