DBGS Scarecrow Trail 2025 – A Fantastic First Year!

In October 2025, Dane Bank Green Space proudly hosted our first-ever sponsored Scarecrow Trail, and the community response was nothing short of incredible.

We were overwhelmed by the creativity and enthusiasm shown by everyone who took part. Local schools, community groups and clubs came together to create a colourful trail that celebrated imagination, teamwork and community spirit.

Wonderful contributions from across the community

We were delighted to receive scarecrows from:

  • Dane Bank Primary School
  • West End Primary School
  • Inclusive Arts
  • Kids Go Wild Forest School
  • Dane Bank Angling Club
  • Denton West AFC
  • Tameside People’s 4 Wildlife

In total, 21 scarecrows were installed across Dane Bank Green Space, each one bringing something unique from funny and friendly to spooky and spectacular!

A community vote for the favourite scarecrow

Residents were invited to join in the fun by exploring the trail and voting online for their favourite scarecrow. The response was fantastic, with lots of families heading out over the October weeks to find every scarecrow, enjoy the fresh air and share their favourites across social media.

A brilliant start to a new community tradition

The 2025 trail marked the beginning of what we hope will become a cherished annual event for Dane Bank. It brought together local groups, encouraged creativity, and filled the Green Space with colour, laughter and community pride.

A huge thank you to everyone who created a scarecrow, sponsored the trail or joined in the voting. Your support helped make our first Scarecrow Trail a great success — and we’re already excited to make 2026 even bigger and better!
